The Scott County Soil & Water Conservation District is accepting applications for a full-time Conservation Technician. This position will have the primary role of administering the Erosion and Sediment Control Program in Scott County, and be required to meet certifications in the State Erosion and Sedimentation Control Program within one year of hiring. The successful candidate will also work in a team environment and accept additional duties as necessary.
A high school degree is required; additional education in an agricultural/natural resources related field is preferred. A farming background is highly desirable. Successful candidate must possess excellent computer skills, the ability to work independently and in a team environment, multitask, and possess both oral and written skills, be well organized and self motivated. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license. The ability to work with the public is necessary. Applications may be obtained from the District office, or download VA State Application form 10-012.
